Growing up in Florida, if he wasn’t heading to the baseball field, Saturday mornings for Jonathan invariably involved a trip to Home Depot with his dad, a general contractor, with ensuing construction and DIY projects at home. On Sundays, he could be found sitting in a pew scribbling imaginary floor plans on a church sheet. No surprise then, that as an adult, after years working in investment banking, where he advised in over $70 billion of capital market deals, structuring transactions at Goldman Sachs, Barclays Capital, and Lehman Brothers, he decided to build a career in real estate. After a decade working in New York City, participating in over $2 billion worth of real estate acquisitions domestically and internationally, Jonathan was hungry for a move that would bring him closer to the more tangible aspects of the industry he had been so familiar with as a child.
In 2021, Jonathan, who had visited Detroit consistently since first being sent to the city on business in 2016, joined Century Partners as their Director of Development. His role includes developing operations strategies, executing on value-add capital strategies, and overseeing an expansion into new asset classes. Long driven and inspired by the power of community and citizens to create meaningful change, his favorite part of the position is the opportunity to execute on projects that hold real significance in the present and the future.
An analytical thinker who thrives on improving systems and collaboration, Jonathan’s love for history, architecture, innovation and music makes Detroit the perfect home for him. Spy him around town on his vintage Triumph motorbike.
